A Saturday to Sleep In

We had a rockin' good time at the Hanna Stamps Party on Splitcoast last night. Who would have guessed that trying to post and keep up with conversations on the computer would be such hard work?! Above is a card I made for the challenge to use stars on your card. I chose the "Patriotic" set from hanna and used the grill for a 4th of July card.

I also used one of the new Riley moose stamps. I chose the football stamp and cut out the little guy. The card looked great in person, it wasn't until I took the photo that I saw all the fingerprints.

I had a great idea to make some shirts for myself and the boys with the new Riley stamps. I asked Seth which stamp he liked the most and, like the rest of us, he loves them all! Of course, as we were all madly uploading last night, Design Team genius Niki had her shirts for her boys already made. Dangnabit!

I am learning summer is no time to try to keep up with blogging. Sorry for the delay in posts but the boys have me running ragged. seth has day camp this week, so maybe I will get a small break from the sibling fights and be able to update regularly.

Mother's Day

I survived the art sale and the garage sale but have just been busy, busy, busy. The art sale went very well and I still have all of my accompanying items in the back of my van. I came home from the ale and immediately started sorting and pricing for the garage sale.

Noah and Seth love shopping the garage sales because there are so many affordable finds for them. Seth bought me a teddy bear for Mother's Day. He loves stuffed animals, and I hate them, so I should not have been surprised that he was trying to share his love with me.

Noah bought ne 19 shades of fingernail polish. He was so proud that they were only a nickel each and he bought all the lady had for sale. The photo above is of some of them. See the yellow? I have never even seen such a shade!

I made this card at Vicki Garrett's house using her Stampotique stamps. I love the aliens. The paper is from a Basic Grey card sized pack. The art work is from a guy named Daniel Torrence, or Daniel Terrence, I can never remember which. I love his artwork, that's all that matters.

This card is for the Hanna Stamps Challenge #16. We were to use Creamy Caramel, Always Arichoke, and Real Red. I colored Riley with copics, made my own background, and added ribbon. The small flowered background is a small SU stamp and I colored the centers with the Sakura gel pen. I love this Riley. For the Splitcoast Stampers board I titled this "Riley Lights My Fire" because he does. I love him!

I hope your day went well. I fell asleep at 12:30 after church, snug in my nice warm bed while it rained hard outside. Seth woke me at 3:30 asking me to take him to the movie "Nim's Island." It was a cute movie, but I must have been tired to have slept hard for three hours in the middle of the day.

Lack of Mojo

You know how it is, some days the desire to create is great but the end product shows you really weren't at the top of the talent game today. I made this little Riley Moose for myself, just because I liked him, so maybe it doesn't matter that he is not the finest work of art. he is still adorable.

My hubby is not coming home any time soon tonight so I am taking the boys out to eat and to school for Young Author Night. All the classrooms have their kids write books and they go on display at school for one night. A couple of the grade levels will be presenting a school concert and there is a Book fair, too. The book fair is the highlight of the night. The kids want to see how much money they can get me to spend. Too bad for them. I'll buy them each one book, but I am a true believer in the public library system. As for myself? There's nothing I like better than to be surrounded by a big pile of books. My kids inherited that from me, what can I say?

I'm Late to the Game

Ever have so much going on, something gets lost along the way? That is me today. Hanna Stamps will be releasing more of the Riley Moose line along with his female friend Sophie G on Friday. This is a quick peek at Riley camping. Most of the stamps are from Hanna Stamps, but the bear and the sleeping bag are from Stampin' Up's set, Happy Camper. Don't worry, Riley escapes unharmed, there will be no future cards from me with Riley being eaten by the bear. Well, maybe I should not make nay promises I can't keep, but my mood today is pretty good, so Riley is safe for now.

The paper for this card (also used a few posts ago) is from Scenic Route. I like how it lends a nature type fel to the outdoorsy cards. I wish I had more of it, but I only picked up one piece of it.

The news from our house today is that Seth decided to eat breakfast. This child never wants breakfast. Today he wanted some cereal so I fixed it for him and he sat down to eat. As he ate, the dog decided to go to the back door (in Plain view of Seth) and barf up her breakfast. Seth ran from the table to the bathroom vomiting, too. I was the only adult home so I had plenty to clean up this morning, in addition to my usual duties. Let's hope everyone's stomachs settle and that they are done for the day.

Card of the Day

Several of the ladies on the Design Team for Hanna Stamps have given this moose (Riley) a polka dotted watering can and/or boots. I think I'll do that, too. It adds a bit of cuteness. Not that you need to add any. Riley is adorable all on his own! He is made with Basic Grey paper, some Bazzill for background a bit of bling.

Seth did not feel well today so he stayed home from school with me. He came home from school yesterday saying not only was his teacher absent, but so were four classmates. He was very tired yesterday, his face was red, and he did not complain about an early bed time. I let him sleep in this morning and we had an easy day. I ttok him out for lunch for some one on one time and got him a new pair of shoes, too. Funny how I think "Oh, lunch is a good idea, I'll let Seth pick what he wants." Of course, going out beats staying in for leftover chili anyday.

I had brunch with Tony Dungy

Well, okay, my friend Jenny called and wanted to meet for brunch today. We decided on a nice little Northside spot and who comes in but the man himself! Tony Dungy! The staff politely sat him in a room off to the side that was empty and he was with another person, believed to be a Colts player. They ate and chat and hung out, and no one bothered them as far as I could tell. So, if eating in the same restaraunt at the same time counts, I had brunch with Tony Dungy.

As I left the restaurant I noticed two nicer cars in the parking lot. One black Hummer and one black Escalade. I decided the hummer was too flashy for Coach Dungy so I think the Escalade was his vehicle.

I made a little card with Riley Moose for today. I love this new set and can't wait to have many more Riley moose stamps in my house. I used bazzill paper and some from Scrapbook Walls from the last year or so. I made a card that has a little pull up card inside it. Just something to shake up the ordinary.

We are having a cold spell here and I could do without it. Once the weather is in the 20's, it's too cold for me. I would not make a good Alaska girl at all. Well, I'd love to summer in Alaska, fish for salmon, catch crab, not break a sweat. But I would be a horrible cold depressed woman in the winter. I would wear long underwear all day and all night, too. Lately I have been sleeping in socks, which Scott thinks is crazy enough. One cold foot jab to his side while under the covers and I'd never hear another word about it, but I am not that mean.
